Preparation Tips for Each IELTS Section
Writing Tips
- Write at least the required word count (150 for Task 1, 250 for Task 2), but avoid excessive writing.
- Use your draft only for organizing ideas, not rewriting the entire text.
- Address every part of the question with a variety of vocabulary and grammar structures.
Reading Tips
- Time Management: Don’t spend too long on any one question.
- Follow instructions carefully to avoid mistakes, especially in True/False/Not Given tasks.
- Stick to the word limit for answers, as exceeding it lowers your score.
- Master skimming and scanning techniques to locate key information quickly.
Speaking Tips
- Stay confident and treat the examiner like a friendly conversation partner.
- Speak fluently, using linking words to connect your thoughts.
- Simplify your sentences if unsure about complex grammar to avoid errors.
