FCE Exam Structure
The FCE exam (Cambridge English: First) consists of the following sections:
1. Reading and Use of English
- Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Focus: Tests reading comprehension and language use, including grammar and vocabulary.
2. Writing
- Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes
- Focus: Assesses the ability to produce clear and well-structured written texts, such as essays and letters.
3. Listening
- Duration: 40 minutes
- Focus: Evaluates the ability to understand spoken English in various contexts.
4. Speaking
- Duration: Approximately 14 minutes (in pairs of candidates)
- Focus: Measures spoken communication skills through interactive tasks and discussions.
FCE Exam CEFR Scoring
The FCE exam scores correspond to the following CEFR levels:
- Grade A: Level C1
- Grade B or C: Level B2
