GRE

We are an Exam Prep Centre since 2011

95% of our students have been successfully admitted to Ivy League universities.

GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is a test required for admission to master’s, doctoral, and other postgraduate programs in the USA, Canada, Australia, and other countries.

The GRE assesses college-level knowledge and is designed for students with an English proficiency level of at least Upper-Intermediate to Advanced.

The verbal and mathematical parts are scored from 130 to 170 points, and the writing section is scored from 0 to 6 points.

If you score less than 130 points on part 2 or 3, it is evaluated as 0 points.

Typically, GRE test scores older than 5 years are not accepted by universities, though some business schools may accept earlier scores.

Preliminary scores are available immediately after taking the test, while the official results are sent via email within 10-15 days.

The cost of the exam at a GRE test center is $190.

There are two versions of the test:

  • General Test: This assesses the applicant’s math, writing, and verbal skills without focusing on a specific academic field.
  • Subject Test: This tests knowledge in a specific area (such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).

Psychology

Mathematics

Chemistry

Physics

Computer Science

Biology

Biochemistry

Literature

The GRE test is divided into three sections:

  • Verbal Reasoning: There are 2 sections with 20 questions each in the computer-based version and 2 sections with 25 questions each in the paper-based version. Each section lasts 30 minutes for the computer version and 35 minutes for the paper version. This section evaluates the ability to analyze reading material, synthesize information, and understand relationships between parts of sentences, words, and ideas. The topics are diverse and can include both everyday life issues and content from the humanities and natural sciences.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: The computer version consists of 2 sections with 20 questions each, and the paper version has 2 sections with 25 questions each. Each section lasts 35 minutes for the computer version and 40 minutes for the paper version. This section tests understanding of basic mathematical concepts, mathematical proofs, and quantitative problem-solving skills, requiring knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and probability theory.
  • Analytical Writing: The computer version has 1 section with 2 independent tasks, each lasting 30 minutes. The paper version has 2 sections with 30 minutes for each task. The Analytical Writing section assesses the ability to reason and analyze, identify internal relationships, and understand cause and effect.

The total duration of the GRE exam (computer-based version) is approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. The paper-based version of the GRE takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
